Role
UX/UI Designer

Health insurance is full of rules that people discover only when they're already unwell: which clinics are covered, what's excluded, who to call first. MedApp puts those answers into one app, from booking a visit to reporting a claim. I designed 16 user flows, including their error and empty states, and presented each flow to the client for sign-off.
What it's for
Without interview data, I built a proto-persona from the product scope and how voluntary health insurance works. It kept every decision focused on one thing: people don’t browse this app, they come with a problem.

Booking a visit
Booking depends on a chain of choices: policy, format, clinic, visit type, service, doctor and time. A wrong early choice breaks everything after it. I put the whole booking on one screen. Users see the full scope from the start and can change any answer without going back through steps.

When things go wrong
People open this app under stress, so errors had to be clear and calm. Every error says what went wrong and what to do next. Password rules update as you type, and the main button stays disabled until the input is valid. Rules and errors combine an icon with text, so they don’t rely on color alone.

Help in one tap
When something serious happens, the first step is to contact the insurer’s assistance team. The alert button sits in the bottom bar on every screen. One tap opens all contact channels: Telegram, Viber, three mobile operators and a landline, so users can pick whichever works for them right now. A permanent button takes space in the navigation, but in this product, fast access to help mattered more.

Outcome
All key flows were approved by the client in November 2023, and the app was launched on the App Store in Ukraine.
